How far is Skydive Seneca Lake from Rochester?

Skydive Seneca Lake is located in Ovid, NY, about 63 miles from Rochester. The drive typically takes something more than 1 hour. Most Rochester visitors take I-90 East (NYS Thruway) before heading south toward Ovid. Even if you take a different route, you can expect a drive duration of less than 1 hour and 30 minutes.

What should Rochester jumpers bring?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and weather protection. Temperatures at altitude are cooler than along Lake Ontario, so light layers are recommended. Closed-toe, preferably athletic shoes, are required. 

 

Bring your phone for pre- and post-jump photos, we handle the in-air video and photography. Pack snacks and water in case of weather delays, arrive 30 minutes early for check-in, and bring your best attitude!

Is tandem skydiving safe?

Safety is our top priority. We follow strict FAA regulations and USPA safety standards, and every tandem skydive is conducted by certified, highly experienced instructors. 

 

You’ll be securely harnessed to a trained professional who manages the exit, freefall, parachute deployment, and landing. 

 

While no adventure sport is completely risk-free, tandem skydiving is one of the most controlled and professionally supervised ways to experience freefall.
