February at Skydive Seneca Lake: Skydiving Season Is Almost Here!

The skies may be out of reach for now, but our dreams and plans for this season have never flown higher. Our engines may be quiet, but we’re ready to get back in the air and out of this snow!

Valentine’s Freefall in Love Deal

February brought Valentine’s Day, along with a great tandem deal for couples ready to fall in love and freefall together.

USPA Safety Day

USPA Safety Day is about getting skydivers mentally and technically ready for a safe, strong season ahead. It is held every year, and ours will be on April 25. 

Safety Day gives jumpers a chance to refresh their safety knowledge, review emergency procedures, check over their gear, and learn from experienced instructors and riggers before the season begins.

It’s designed for everyone, from students to pros. No matter how many jumps you have, staying up to date in safety is what keeps the sport fun and sustainable. Safety Day is about starting the season with the right mindset.

Fun Jumper of the Month 

This month’s Fun Jumper of the Month goes to one of our all-time favorite sport jumpers at SSL: Adam Bonawitz!

Adam has been jumping in Ovid since 2021, when he met the owners during his very first ground school, and he’s been part of the heartbeat of this DZ ever since.

This month, we want to recognize his ability to keep the laughs alive every single day. He is definitely the top comedian at our DZ, but don’t let that fool you.

Whenever you need him, he steps up without hesitation.

Adam will jump with anyone, anytime, and he has a natural gift for coaching newer skydivers with patience, encouragement, and just the right amount of humor.

After earning the #1 spot on last year’s leaderboard, we’re excited to see him battle it out again in 2026.

Adam, thank you for making Skydive Seneca Lake more fun!

Skydiving Season Countdown

Winter may have our planes on the ground, but our desire to fly reaches its peak this time of year. We’re just two months away from skydiving season, and the anticipation is building.

We open May 1 for tandems and in April for fun jumpers as soon as the weather clears. Keep an eye on our socials and newsletter for official dates.
